Job Overview We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Business Development Intern to join our International Trade division. This role is unique—it combines "desk-side" market research and client acquisition with "on-ground" vendor management and logistics coordination. You will learn the entire lifecycle of an export/import transaction, from sourcing local goods to ensuring they clear customs at the port. Key Responsibilities 1. Local Vendor Sourcing & Supply Chain Supplier Identification: Research and vet local manufacturers/vendors who meet international quality standards (ISO, CE, GMP, etc.). Procurement Support: Assist in negotiating pricing, lead times, and packaging requirements to ensure the goods are "export-ready." Quality Inspections: Conduct physical visits to vendor warehouses to verify stock quality before it is dispatched to the port. 2. Export-Import (EXIM) Operations Documentation: Assist in preparing critical trade documents: Commercial Invoices, Packing Lists, Certificates of Origin, and Bill of Lading. Port Coordination: Coordinate with Customs House Agents (CHAs) and freight forwarders to track container movement and ensure timely port-in. Compliance: Learn and apply local and international trade regulations (Incoterms 2020) to ensure smooth "Customs Clearance." 3. Market Research & Business Growth Lead Generation: Identify potential international buyers through B2B portals (Alibaba, Indiamart, Panjiva) and LinkedIn. Competitor Analysis: Track global commodity prices and competitor shipping volumes to help refine our pricing strategy. CRM Updates: Maintain a database of international inquiries and follow up on sampling requests.
